Lower Part B Premium 

Could Be on the Way

Medicare Part B beneficiaries’ premiums will be lowered in 2023 to compensate for lower-than-expected spending on Biogen’s Alzheimer’s disease drug Aduhelm, Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Xavier Becerra announced.

Each year, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) uses market and industry factors to determine the annual Medicare Part B premium. Among the details that CMS must account for, there are the projected costs that the Medicare program is likely to incur in the next year to keep the program solvent. 

Blue Shield CA, Walgreens expanding access to in-person, virtual care​

Blue Shield of California and Walgreens Health are expanding access to in-person and virtual care options through the launch of 12 new Walgreens Health Corner locations in the San Francisco Bay Area and Los Angeles County.

Walgreens Health Corner locations offer people an "integrated care experience," according to a joint statement from the companies, with access to Health Advisors. The advisors are qualified personnel with clinical backgrounds, such as pharmacists and registered nurses, who are available for in-store health consultations.
